Key Success Factors of Continuous Business Process Improvement Implementation

Below diagram shows what respondents consider as most important success factors of business process improvement activities:

The survey has shown the most often noted success factors:

  • Managers/supervisors engage employees in process improvement by example
  • Training on process improvement tools and methods
  • Top management is actively involved in process improvement program from inception

15 Most Effective Tools from Cost vs Benefits Perspective

Respondents were able to select up to 15 options from 55 available. We note that absolute majority of selected tools are simple, which is in line with our previous observation that simple tools are more than sufficient during initial steps in process improvement programs...

... practical experience demonstrates that starting from the fourth year of process improvement program organizations start using more advanced tools like scatter plots, control charts, box plots (to compare performance of different shifts, production lines etc.), pull systems and others.
